Mission Mobile is a Johannesburg-based fintech founded in 2023 by brothers Tim and Adam Strike that finances smartphones for the customers of mobile network operators. Its Beam platform scores applicants on how they actually earn and spend rather than relying only on conventional credit checks, letting operators serve customers - especially the more than 80% of South African mobile connections on prepaid - who traditional financing would decline. The company runs the model end to end, from onboarding and device delivery to payments, data fulfilment and customer service, covering both postpaid deals and its DataBack Device bundle for prepaid users.
