MineWatch is the underground-mining technology venture spun out of Chilean IoT firm Vigalab in 2022 by five cofounders led by CEO Jose Reyes. It deploys battery-powered wireless mesh nodes (about 250 m of tunnel range each) that give mines real-time visibility of equipment status and personnel location without requiring internet or cabling underground, serving operations such as Codelco El Teniente through contractors like DMC Mining and Mies. The 18-person Santiago company went live at Cerro Lindo in Peru, targets Mexico in 2027, and raised US$900,000 from mining-tech fund Alza Mining Tech to scale.
