MemTensor (记忆张量) is a Shanghai-based AI company founded in November 2024 and incubated by the Shanghai Institute of Algorithm Innovation, with a Chinese Academy of Sciences academician as chief scientific advisor. It builds MemOS, an open-source memory operating system that lets large language models and AI agents produce, schedule, update, forget and audit long-term memory as a managed system resource rather than relying on ever-longer context windows or retrieval augmentation. The company is extending that stack upward into memory-native foundation models, positioning its work around low cost, low hallucination and high generalization.
