Mana Battery is a Broomfield, Colorado-based battery technology company developing high-energy, anode-free sodium-ion cells built on a proprietary electrolyte platform. Spun out of the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023, it assembles cells without an anode active material, pairing a self-extinguishing electrolyte with abundant, domestically sourced materials to cut cost and supply-chain risk relative to lithium-ion. Its technology targets defense, aerospace, rail, datacenter backup power and industrial UPS applications, and the company is co-developing cells with Saft under a 2026 joint development agreement.
