Kinish

Kinish is a Japanese foodtech startup founded in January 2023 and headquartered in Tokyo that develops dairy alternatives from rice. The company sells The Rice Creamery, a plant-based ice cream made from domestically grown rice stocked in around 500 stores across Japan, with a pilot at Washington DC retailers and the Meta DC office and a new New York office supporting its US expansion. Alongside its consumer products, Kinish applies plant molecular farming and plant factory technology to develop dwarf rice varieties that express casein, a milk protein, targeting next-generation dairy alternatives such as cheese and yogurt.
