Kapta Space is a Seattle-based startup developing electronically steered spaceborne radar payloads for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and tracking missions. Its software-defined Metamaterial Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) architecture is designed to deliver moving target indication, wide-area tracking of dynamic targets and high-resolution SAR imaging from low Earth orbit at a fraction of the cost, power and complexity of traditional AESA systems. Founded by alumni of Echodyne, Apple and Astranis, the company serves US defense and intelligence customers and follows its 5 million dollar seed round from early 2025 with this Series A.
