IZANA is a Nagoya University spinoff founded in 2024 that develops, manufactures and sells ultra-high-sensitivity magnetic sensing systems based on the giant magneto-impedance (GMI) effect, able to detect picotesla-level magnetic fields outside shielded environments. Its small, lightweight and low-power sensors target defense and marine-infrastructure uses, including GNSS-independent magnetic navigation for drones, vessels and underwater inspection. The company is based in Nagoya, Japan, and is building magnetic positioning technology that works where satellite signals are jammed or unavailable.
