Ictero Medical is a Houston-based medical device startup developing the CholeSafe System, a minimally invasive cryoablation treatment that defunctionalizes the gallbladder as a non-surgical alternative for high-risk gallstone patients. Founded in 2018 out of the Texas Medical Center Biodesign fellowship, the company develops the system with Houston device firm Biotex and raised an oversubscribed $6M Series A in 2022 led by MedTex Ventures and S3 Ventures.
