Frontier Computing is a Cambridge, UK-based biocomputing startup growing large-scale lab-cultured neuronal tissue — "wetware" — as a training and inference substrate for machine learning. The company says its tissue-culture technique circumvents the roughly one-million-neuron oxygen-supply (vascularisation) limit that has historically capped lab-grown tissue, and it demonstrated the platform by training biological neurons to play the game Frogger. Founded in 2025 by Michael Domarkas and part of Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch, Frontier provides the substrate, interfacing and cloud infrastructure for third parties to train models on living neurons, targeting a 500-million-neuron cluster by January 2027.
