Epyr is a Paris-based industrial energy startup founded in 2024 that decarbonises industrial heat with thermal energy storage systems. Its units convert low-cost renewable electricity into high-temperature heat stored in firebricks and release it as process heat or steam on demand, while smart charging helps balance the power grid. The company offers an all-in-one package of technology, system integration, energy management and third-party financing, delivered as Heat-as-a-Service, and commissioned France's first industrial-scale thermal storage unit at WEPA's Troyes paper mill in 2026.
