Ellipsys Medical is a San Clemente, California-based medical device company relaunching the Ellipsys Vascular Access System, an ultrasound-guided, single-catheter device that creates a percutaneous arteriovenous fistula for hemodialysis patients without open surgery or permanent implants. FDA-cleared since 2018 and used in more than 10,000 endoAVF procedures, the technology returned to the U.S. and select international markets from mid-2026 after Medtronic, which had acquired original developer Avenu Medical in 2020, discontinued the device. The re-founded Delaware corporation (previously Ellipsys, Inc. per SEC records) is restoring physician training, clinical education and customer support alongside a phased commercial rollout.
