CScale is a Palo Alto, California-based startup founded in 2023 that develops optical interconnect technology for AI scale-up systems. Its integrated light engines combine photonics, electronics and software to give thousands of tightly coupled accelerators across dozens of racks high-bandwidth, low-latency connectivity, with an architecture designed to contain optical component failures without interrupting compute. The company targets gigawatt-scale AI data centers and is led by CEO Martin Lund, formerly of Cisco, Broadcom, Microsoft and Cadence, and CTO and founder Sanjai Kohli, co-founder of GPS chipmaker SiRF.
