Branch Energy is a Houston-based distributed energy company that installs and operates Arc, a self-contained grid-in-a-box battery system sized to a single parking space, at commercial buildings such as warehouses, hotels, factories and retail sites. Building owners pay nothing upfront: Branch handles permitting, installation, insurance and operations while customers receive guaranteed bill savings plus backup power during outages. Branch acts as the retail electricity provider for its Texas customers and earns revenue by dispatching its battery fleet to wholesale markets and contracted off-takers including hyperscale data center operators, and is expanding from the ERCOT market into PJM via Illinois.
