Beff is a Tokyo-based battery-engineering startup founded in 2023 by former Nissan battery engineers (co-CEOs Nagano and Amagai; Nagano also worked on all-solid-state batteries at Toyota). It pairs Virtual Factory Platform (VFP) — a chat-style AI software built on a proprietary lithium-ion battery database and LLM technology that integrates material data, design specs, evaluation conditions and test results — with Real Factory Platform (RFP), a next-generation battery co-development service run out of its own lab covering material selection, process design, prototyping and mass-production ramp-up. Operating from Tokyo and Stuttgart, Beff serves battery makers, automakers and material/equipment suppliers, positioning the fused VFP+RFP platform as shared core infrastructure for battery manufacturing.
