Authors First is a New York City-based book-to-screen studio and distribution platform that adapts novels for film and television while the author keeps creative authority and final-cut approval. Its human-led, AI-enabled production pipeline pairs production artists with generative AI and visual-effects tools across character design, scripting, storyboarding, and virtual cinematography, allowing adaptations of historical fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy that traditional studio budgets would usually block. Founded by CEO Robert Hamwee, the studio released its debut series Genghis: Birth of an Empire, adapted from Conn Iggulden's Wolf of the Plains, with further projects in development from authors including Peter F. Hamilton, David Ball, and R.A. Salvatore.
