Antfly builds a unified retrieval engine that lets AI agents and applications run vector, keyword, and graph search in one database, with built-in reranking, inference, memory, and permission-checked access. Co-founded in Portland, Oregon by James McDermott and AJ Roetker, veterans of the customer data platform Lytics, the company targets the gap where teams otherwise stitch together five or six separate databases and search tools to feed AI systems. Its core engine runs free as a self-hosted download with a managed cloud service in development, and customers such as Visiting Media use it to index large media libraries for AI-powered search.
