ai3Bio is a Watertown, Massachusetts-based biotechnology company developing therapies that reset the immune system by directly eliminating disease-causing Th17 cells in vivo. Formed by combining Corner Therapeutics' autoimmune technology with the University of Pittsburgh-backed cancer immunology startup Novasenta, the company advances two proprietary platforms: STARx, a lipid nanoparticle that delivers mRNA triggering pathogenic Th17 cells to self-destruct, and T Deplete, a targeting antibody that recruits the body's own immune cells to clear them. Its name reflects the three disciplines behind its approach — advanced immunology, autoimmunity, and artificial intelligence — and the company is led by CEO Steven Altschuler with scientific co-founder Jonathan Kagan of Harvard Medical School.
