Adela is a liquid-biopsy diagnostics company developing blood-based, tissue-free tests for molecular residual disease (MRD) monitoring and multi-cancer early detection, built on a proprietary genome-wide methylome enrichment platform that preserves more cell-free DNA than bisulfite-conversion approaches. Spun out of Toronto's University Health Network in 2020 under the name DNAMx and relaunched as Adela with a $60 million Series A in 2021, it operates CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited laboratories with sites in Foster City, California and Toronto. Its test is clinically validated for head and neck cancer recurrence monitoring and for immunotherapy response monitoring in advanced solid tumors, and its CAMPERR study for multi-cancer early detection is roughly 98% enrolled toward 6,300 participants.
