Overview

This skill provides clear, standardized emergency first-aid guidance for common life‑threatening and non‑life‑threatening situations. It prioritizes calling emergency services, gives numbered one‑sentence steps for quick scanning, and avoids unproven remedies. The guidance covers CPR, burns, choking, bleeding, fractures, poisoning, allergic reactions, electric shock, drowning, snake bites, and other frequent scenarios.

How this skill works

When invoked, the skill immediately advises calling local emergency services and securing the scene, then outputs a short numbered list of concrete actions (one sentence per step) tailored to the reported scenario. It includes a short "Do not do" list of common mistakes and reminds to call the emergency number if the situation is severe. Unknown or unusual situations receive an immediate safety fallback (call emergency + ensure safety) followed by targeted first‑aid steps.

When to use it

  • When someone is unconscious, not breathing, or showing no pulse (CPR needed).
  • When a person has major bleeding, suspected fracture, or severe burns.
  • When choking, drowning, or severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) occurs.
  • When exposure to poisons, electric shock, heatstroke, or snake bite is suspected.
  • When you need immediate, practical first‑aid steps while professional help is en route.

Best practices

  • Call emergency services first and confirm the correct local number before giving instructions.
  • Give short numbered actions that can be read quickly under stress.
  • Always include a clear "Do not do" list to prevent harmful interventions.
  • Emphasize scene safety and removal of ongoing hazards (electricity, traffic, fire).
  • Avoid home remedies and vague suggestions; stick to evidence‑based first‑aid protocols.

Example use cases

  • User reports an unresponsive person who isn’t breathing — provide CPR steps and AED guidance.
  • Caller describes someone choking and unable to breathe — guide back blows, Heimlich/abdominal thrusts, and when to call emergency services.
  • Someone has a severe bleed — provide steps for direct pressure, elevation, and tourniquet use if applicable.
  • Burn injury from hot liquid — advise cooling, covering, and criteria for hospital transfer.
  • Suspected snakebite — instruct on immobilization, keeping victim calm, and urgent evacuation.

FAQ

No. Call local emergency services immediately if the situation could be life‑threatening; dispatchers can provide real‑time instructions.

Do you recommend home remedies like toothpaste or alcohol on wounds?

No. The skill explicitly avoids unproven or harmful home remedies and only recommends evidence‑based first‑aid actions.
