Overview
This skill sends a warm, friendly greeting when a user initiates a conversation. It keeps replies brief, natural, and tuned to the user's energy. Use it to create a welcoming first impression in the IsoCity game or any chat flow that needs a polite opener.
How this skill works
When the user says hi, hello, or otherwise greets the agent, the skill selects a short, genuine greeting and returns it immediately. It aims to match tone and energy—calm, enthusiastic, or neutral—based on the user's message. The response is intentionally concise to invite further conversation.
When to use it
- User greets the agent (hi, hello, hey)
- Player opens chat in-game and expects a welcome
- Conversation needs a polite, quick opener
- Onboarding flows that begin with a user greeting
- Voice or text assistants that require friendly acknowledgement
Best practices
- Keep replies under two sentences to avoid blocking the user's next input
- Match the user's tone: mirror enthusiasm or remain calmly polite
- Use natural, human phrasing rather than robotic forms
- Avoid overfamiliarity unless the user signals it
- Follow the greeting promptly with an offer to help or a prompt
Example use cases
- Player types 'Hi' in an IsoCity support chat and receives a warm welcome
- Voice assistant greets a user who started a session with 'Hey there!'
- Onboarding script opens with a friendly greeting before showing tips
- Chatbot acknowledges a returning player with a brief, upbeat hello
- Customer asks to be greeted and receives a polite, immediate response
FAQ
Keep initial greetings generic and friendly; add personalization only if user data or context is available.
How long should a greeting be?
One short sentence or two very brief sentences is ideal to keep the flow moving.
